Hi Presley--thanks for your question. If you were to shoot a trumpeter swan, you would need to report it immediately to local wildlife authorities. The incident would then be evaluated on a case by case basis. Penalties could range anywhere from being excused to criminal investigation depending on the circumstances. You most likely would not be allowed to keep the body, meat, or feathers of a killed swan.
