Hi Whitney--thanks for your questions. Trumpeter swans usually lay 5-7 eggs (one every other day). The average length of a trumpeter swan egg was approximately 111 mm, and the average diameter is approximately 72.5 mm (that's about 4.4 inches by 2.9 inches). As far as I know, no trumpeter swans have been killed by people in Yellowstone.
