Thanks for your question, Lindsey. In general trumpeter swans live to be around 25 years, but there is record of one who lived to be 32.5 years old! They appear to be born knowing how to swim and have bouyant bodies. They generally paddle about like pros when they are only a couple of days old. They seldom rest on the water, though. When they are in the water, they are usually swimming, feeding, or engaged in a definite activity.
