: what is yellowstone for?indians?buffalo?
Thanks for your question, Charise! Yellowstone has been set aside as a national park for two main purposes. The first is to maintain all of the natural resources (plants, animals, water, air, soil, topographic features, paleontologic resources, etc., as well as things like scenic vistas, natural quiet, and clear skies)in their natural states. The second purpose is to make a place like Yellowstone accessible for the use and enjoyment of people. So you could say that Yellowstone IS for the bison (and all of the other animals and Yellowstone IS for the Indians, as well as for all of the other people--including YOU!!!
