Hello. Most fires are caused by lightning. Occaionally a power line falls, or a human gets careless. In the past few years we have been experiencing drought conditions here in Yellowstone National Park, so fires tend to burn fast and furious. The trees and vegetation are pretty dry, and winds drive them across the landscape at a fast pace.
