Hello Kate and Penelope. The staff in Yellowstone is fairly small, but if fires get out of hand crews are called in from around the country if they are available. Two to three hundred or more have been involved in recent fires in Yellowstone National Park. An area is chosen that makes accessing the fire easy, and a camp is set up with tents, showering facilities, and mess tents (places to eat). This is home to the firefighters until the job is done or they are released.
