: how many fires have been in yellowstone

Hello Sebastian and Caleb. Fire is a fairly common event each year here in Yellowstone National Park. On the average there are about 30 fires annually. This year there have been around 45. Most are very small, only reaching 1-2 acres in size. The biggest so far this year is 9,160 acres. There is the possibility of more occurring, but it will depend mostly on weather patterns.
