Hi Jake and Eli,

Good to hear from you. Great question. Can you believe it--25,000 people were employed in efforts to control the Yellowstone fires of 1988. Now that was a HUGE fire. Keep in mind that those fires burned 36% of the park's 2,221,766 acres. The number of people it takes to put out a fire depends not only on the number of acres burning, but other factors like terrain, wind, humidity, rain fall, snow fall, type of equipment, temperatures, etc.
