Thank you, Margie. I guess my favorite personal experience occurred many summers ago when I was working on a geological mineral survey in the Washakie Wilderness Area of northern Wyoming. I was way off in the "middle of nowhere", with another crew member, when we stumbled upon a patch of fresh huckleberries. After stopping to fill up a sandwich bag with the treats, we proceeded on our way, only to climb over a rise and see a black bear facing our way. It was really beautiful! We quickly offered up the berries and backed out of the way!
