Suppose you were to learn of an expedition that claimed not only to have explored Oz, or Narnia, or Middle Earth, but that also actually possessed extensive photographs, scientific samples, and maps to prove it! How would you feel if you knew that these places were not only real, but that you could actually go there? Perhaps you would feel the same thrill that people experienced when they saw the evidence of Yellowstone that had been secured by members of the Hayden Expedition. Here, before their very eyes, was proof of a real place, a place full of treasures that could be found nowhere else in the world! Somehow, someway, it had to be protected. But how could this be done and who would do it? |
