Are you familiar with the idea of “natural regulation?” It means letting nature manage itself, with as little interference from humans as possible. Although not everybody agrees that natural regulation is the right way to manage our wild lands, naturally occuring fires have been allowed to burn in Yellowstone and other national parks since the early 1970s.
