Interpret Yellowstone National Park
Artists
of all ages have been inspired by Yellowstone National
Park. A project entitled "Imagine Yellowstone"
motivated students from across the country to portray
the park.
Many, like Thomas Moran in his early
years, depicted the park without ever having seen
it themselves. Like Moran, they were inspired by other
people's pictures and by the reports of others.
From the many painters, photographers,
scientists, writers, and other interpreters of the
first national park, students today have a rich quantity
of resources they can use to imagine the wonders of
Yellowstone.
