Iva: You have to admit that this report will probably do that.

Inspector:
Well, perhaps...but what if this Mole doesn't know the facts? We will need to listen to the complete report to find out what is being said.

Iva:
Yes, I don't want to miss a word! I have about a million questions concerning scientific discoveries at Yellowstone and this report may begin to answer them! Oh, listen! The broadcast is beginning!

Anker:
Yellowstone National Park is known for its striking scenery-miles of lodgepole pine forests, colorful hot springs, and world-famous geysers. Many people, however, do not realize that this landscape mirrors the geologic forces of one of the Earth's largest volcanic systems.

Our mysterious source, The Mole, states that she has uncovered ongoing research involving the study of volcanism in this area. However, this is not the first time scientific study of the park's geology has occurred.

With me tonight is Professor Ira Membur of the Yellowstone Archives of Conundrums and Stumpers to provide a historical perspective.
